The Authority for Civil Defense has two clear roles: we are the leading, directing, and coordinating authority in civil defense and we are the sector-responsible authority for the preparedness sector, fire services, and protection of the civilian population. As a qualified accountant, you will work both broadly and deeply within the accounting field, dealing with both ongoing accounting and year-end closing.

Your knowledge and experience

Your knowledge and experience will contribute to the shaping of the position.

Your responsibilities and tasks

Together with colleagues, you will work to develop, streamline, and ensure the quality of the authority's accounting.

You will be part of a team responsible for asset accounting, inventory accounting, loans, reconciliations, and reporting financial information to the government. You will also set standards within the authority regarding accounting and therefore write rules and instructions for other users in the organization. The team also provides support and acts as a sounding board for system consultants in connection with development measures and upgrades of systems.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic education in economics with a focus on accounting.
• At least a couple of years of experience working with qualified accounting and year-end closing, preferably in a larger organization.
• Good knowledge of financial and operational systems and Excel.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience from public operations.

About the employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your workplace will be Karlstad, and travel may occur as part of the employment.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Typically, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security review with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at MSB are assigned to military service.

About us

In the finance unit, we are over 20 employees located in Karlstad. In our unit, we have both more experienced and more junior employees.

We have an activity-based office where you can choose your workspace according to your needs. You also have the opportunity to work partially remotely.
